Community Children's Charter
All three local governments step up to support our local children
On November 8, 2008 all three local governments met to endorse the Community Children’s Charter for Powell River children. The local Charter is based on the United Nations Charter for Children. The community is looking forward to working with appointed Children’s Advocates from each local government to make sure our whole community is working together effectively to make the region a great place for children and their families. The Understanding the Early Years Project, Success by 6, the Child and Youth Inter-services Management Team and the Building Blocks 0-5 Team would like to thank our strong local governments for their support in making children and families a priority in our region. Thank you to Powell River City Council, Sliammon Band Council, and Powell River Regional District for demonstrating your support for kids.
